Wednesdays Musings

We are in Arizona staying with our daughter and son in law and their two kids. We have to look for things to do during the day as they all work or go to school. Yesterday, I went to the Women in the Word group at Sherri and Don's church. I was amazed at how many ladies they have coming. The auditorium was filled with tables of eight and nearly the whole space was covered. It was a very nice group of ladies around my table. Barb from Phoenix who often reads my blog, when I write one, was the leader at our table. Most of the ladies in our group were more mature and had great experience to draw from. I felt blessed to be among them. Sometimes at my own church, I feel I am the one who has to do the giving or the ministering. This time, I was ministered to. I felt as if I could Be Still and Know that He is God.

When I came home, Ken expressed he would like to go to the driving range and hit a few balls. So I rode with him and sat on a bench reading a book. Actually, I finished "The Faith of George W. Bush". While that my not make me very popular with some, it was a good window to lookat I suspected was going on in the White House during all those years. I believe the man acted out of the faith of his heart and that in time, he will be viewed differently than the way he was so disgracefully treated his last year or so. I was always amazed at the grace in which he took all the criticism. I doubt that we had many presidents whose coworkers would find them prostrate in prayer on the floor. This one was found that way several times. Let God be the judge.

Today, we are meeting some friends we made when our Korean children were young. They, ad four Korean girls. We became very fond of them but didn't get time to visit often because of the distance between us. They live an hours south of us which is a direction we don't go very often. Now they live here six month s of the year. They work at the Brewers spring training camp so have gotten us tickets to the basebal lame today. I have always chuckled about the practice of people that vacation and meet up with people from their own town with whom they generally have no contact. We are becoming those people.
