Texas, Oklahoma and Mosourri

Second day of travel..........today we drove seven hundred miles. We have finally stopped in Springfield, Mo. We had a nice meal at Ihop....well, meal is perhaps not the right term for four harvest nut pancakes but they were certainly good. We had brunch at Denny's around eleven this morning. Ken's mouth continues to hurt some so breakfast food is very friendly for him to eat right now.

We began our day early and because we were headed east, we saw the sky lighten and then a magnificent sun rise. We watched for it for nearly an hour and finally that huge heavenly body slipped from beneath the horizon to give us a thrill. We viewed again the largest cross in the western hemishere in Groom, Ok. It obviously was built in that small town right along I 40 for the reason of drawing folks attention to the sacrifice of our Lord. I left wondering who it was that thought of the idea and then gathered the funds to accomplish the goal. I noticed a visitor's center is being built at its base. Sure to be another tourist attraction.

A winter storm warning is in effect for tomorrow here so we are set for three thirty in hopes of beating the bad weather. It's time to get some rest. We rest in His love and care over us.
